NRA Basics of Personal Protection Inside the Home
The NRA Basics of Personal Protection In the Home course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for the protection of self and family, should the need arise. This eight-hour course covers defensive shooting fundamentals, home-safety strategies, and the legal aspects of self-defense, and includes approximately 100 rounds of live-fire practice. Students should already have basic pistol shooting experience (an NRA Basic Pistol certificate, documented equivalent, or passing our in-class skills check satisfies this).
